Regency Mint uses Olympic silver dollar die to strike medals

Regency mint was featured in Coin World News for some of the innovative bimetallic products we created using a US Mint canceled die. The article reads:

Eighteen years after the U.S. Mint retired a Proof 1995-P Atlanta Centennial Olympics silver dollar die from production, the private Regency Mint in Orem, Utah, resurrected its use to strike medals.

The United States Mint sold canceled dies from the Atlanta Olympics program as collector products for $49 each in 1997. The privately issued medals are struck with one of those canceled silver dollar obverse dies and a new, medallic reverse die.

The private mint is offering the medals in three-piece, limited-edition sets.
