What Are Blanks?
AT THIS TIME, REGENCY MINT IS NOT OFFERING BLANKS. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
Blanks are punched and weighed metal discs. The rims on these are slightly upset, making them easier to use in a press. The pieces are then either tumbled or burnished based on the type of project they will be used for.
Blanks do not have a finished coin rim. These are meant to go in a press that will then add in the finished coin edge. If you are looking for something that needs a finished coin edge, please discuss options with us.
We do significant business in preparing both precious metals and non-precious blanks and planchets for other mints.
Other mints appreciate our blanks for two reasons in particular: (1) After fabrication, we “soften” our precious metal blanks, which makes it very easy to stamp a higher quality design onto your coins; (2) We weigh every precious metal blank to ensure it is at least the guaranteed weight. You can be sure that a 1 troy ounce blank will be at least 1 troy ounce. Once blanked, the planchets or blanks are typically rimmed and cleaned depending on your specific needs. We have two different polishing grades for our blanks.
